SixC DH 165mm / 83mm bb Carbon Crankset

RaceFace went through some churn late last year with their company but they’re back!  They were showing off a variety of products at Interbike including 83mm SixC Carbon DH cranks, an improved Atlas crankset, and much more.  Check out a video inside detailing some of their cranksets.

Race Face’s new carbon SixC 83mm / 165mm crankset should be quite the hit for those looking to built a lightweight bike.  Made in their Canada facility, these cranks felt quite light and had an impressive finish to them.

These downhill SixC cranks see a variety of features in addition to them being carbon fiber.  The rubber boot (can be removed) helps protect the pedal ends from strikes which is nice to see.  Additionally they’ve got steel pedal inserts for the threads and reinforced chain ring tabs.

These felt super light and Race Face says they’ve got the competition beat by a good.  I can only suspect this means SRAM’s new DH Carbon crank set.  We’ll be sure to find out for ourselves!

For 2012 Atlas FR becomes just the Atlas.  Race Face dropped it from the end of their name but these remain much the same as previous Atlas FR in application usage but these 2012 series has a lot of improvements.

Wider chainguide tabs at 4.5mm and an improved interface for the crank attachment so no longer is a big allen required to torque properly.

In addtion to that, they’ve managed to shave some weight as well (claimed 80g) and etched in a Whistler-topo along the side of the arm!
