TIME wanted to be able to offer a wide platform pedal at a lighter weight than their aluminum body Z range. The R&D department has developed a composite body that provides great support when unclipped. Check inside for more detail on these new X Roc S pedals.
The composite body allowed TIME to shave some weight off of these pedals.
TIME keeps the reliable ATAC (Auto Tension Adjustment Concept) technology that offers easy entry, great mud cleaning technology, and on the higher-end X Roc S model, you can adjust the tension.
The pedals have lateral float of 6mm total and an angular float of 5° on each side. Those two combine to offer freedom of movement while clipped in and provide a greater comfort for riders with knee issues who still want ride clipped in. By switching the right cleat to the left foot, you can increase the release angle from 13° to 18°.
Accessing the tension is done through the side of the pedal with a screwdriver on the X Roc S.
The X Roc S has a few adjustable positions to pick from. The adjuster has a few detents that have different heights that allow you to increase / decrease the tension spring.
Besides the wide composite body, what makes the X Roc range unique is the stainless steel plates to protect the body from wearing out as well as an oversized axle for greater durability.
