Trek

Trek’s – The new Stache is a versatile new hardtail that had many heads turning at Day 1 of Sea Otter.

You decide: 29+/27.5+/29? Trek’s smartly designed Stranglehold Dropout accommodates several wheel sizes. Run 29+ for an ultimate trail-crushing ride, 27.5+ for a more playful setup, or standard 29? for XC performance

The Stache 29+ is offered an aluminum framesets and complete options are available in Stache 9, Stache 7, and a Stache 5.

• Boost110 and Boost148 yields wider hub spacing (148 rear plus, and a 110 in the front)
• Mid-Fat 29+ style.
• Adjustable dropouts – 420mm-405mm
• A specific boost148 chainring spider was required to get the chainline to be where it needs to be
• Suspension forks on two of the models (7 and 9).
• Rigid version has a 100 suspension corrected
• 29+ or 27.5 Plus with a 140mm fork
• The big tires allow for low psi and 15psi is common
• $3879 (Stache 9), $2519(Stache 7),

For suspension, Trek teamed up with Manitou to include the Magnum Pro (Stache 9) and Magnum Comp (Stache 7).  RockShox and Fox will also have compatible forks for these bikes.

Bontrager has some new Tubeless ready wheels as well to work with these new bike called Line Plus.

• Available in boost or non boost sizing
• 6.5 degrees of engagement out of the box and tubeless compatible

FOX has had a number of new produces and technologies we’ve talked about recently including the Float X, Float X2, FIT4, EVOL, Float 34, DPS. At Sea Otter they were showing off all their new products as well including a SLS (Super Light Steel) spring, FOX 36 831, DHX 2, Float X2, and more.
