Smith Optics looks to be coming out with a new AM helmet called the Forefront slated for release in 2014.  Check out their video inside on the new lid.

The all-new FOREFRONT defines Smith’s innovation platform and serves as the ‘go to’ helmet for all-mountain riders. Created to provide all-mountain protection with road-race weight, the Aerocore™ construction of the FOREFRONT allows riders ventilated protection as never before seen in a bicycle helmet.

It will be interesting to see how this helmet fares in testing standards as more information on this helmet becomes available. The large vent panels are an interesting design as big holes in protective helmets are typically shy’d away from due to the chance of an item entering into the vents. We’ll post details on the Forefront as we get them.
