Sunline

V-One Travel Guide $149.95

Sunline had a few new products on display at Interbike this year. One of the more interesting product they introduced was a new chainguide called the V-One Travel Guide. What makes this chainguide a little different from other products on the market is it’s lower arm. The lower arm of the boomerang can move up under impact. The idea behind the spring loaded lower arm is that it can move upward in an impact situation helping make sure your iscg tabs, bolts, and chainguide keep working and problem free when you land on the chainguide.

You can see in the detail shots that the boomerang has a spring mechanism that keeps the lower arm taunt during normal use but when impacted can swing up and then return to it’s normal position.

The bashguard has a 5 year replacement policy and features no holes or pockets for mud collection. There are two models available, one that fits a maximum 37T chainring and one that fits a 40T maximum. The models shown here are prototypes. The boomerang is shown with metal upper/lower sliders but production models will be poly based.

The boomerang has adjustable upper and lower guides and is set at a wide angle for easy fitment on different downhill frames. It fits ISCG, ISCG 05, and will include a bottom bracket mount adapter.

Moab Knee and Elbow Guards

The Moab knee and elbow guards are MotoGP developed guards using high modulus thermoplastic protectors. The protectors themselves are highly flexible allowing the guards to move with you while riding. The elbow and knee guard in the pictures below both offer flex points for better fit and more comfort.

They are both CE certified using dual density biofoam padding. The elbow is secured with typical velcro strapping while the knee uses velco and clips for a secure fit. Both models have slightly extended mesh panels for added coverage, especially in the knee guard where ankle and upper knee protection can sometimes be lacking. The insides of the guards have silicone printed letters that help keep the guard in place without being abrasive to your skin.

Formula Brakes

The ONE is one of the lightest DH oriented brakes available. They’ve reworked the master cylinder to take advantage of their experience learned when creating their ultra light R1 XC brake and in doing so have dropped a significant amount of weight over the previous model (~100g with the whole system). The new master cylinder is a radial forged piece with flip flop compatibility, easy to use dual bleed ports, and forged aluminum lever blade (carbon blade is also an option). Watch our Interbike Formula One video to learn more about it.

They also have a whole new brake called the RX. The RX is aimed at the entry XC and AM/Enduro market. The 1-piece body caliper features 22mm diameter pistons with top loading organic pads. The master cylinder is similar to the rest of the Formula line using a radial cast piece. It will be available in matte black or white and should weigh around 351g for the 800mm hose version with PM, 160mm rotor, and hardware. Watch our Interbike Formula RX video to learn more about it.

Saddle and Seatpost The saddle features 7mm titanium rails with a synthetic cover and Kevlar reinforcements. Claimed weight is 220g.

The seatpost is a rather unique as it is not as long as a typical seatpost straight from the factory. At 250mm of length cutting isn’t as necessary. It uses a 1 bolt clamp with a CNC head. The 7050 alloy post will be available in 27.2mm and 31.6mm sizes. Claimed weight is 135g.

Pro also features several other lines of products such as Thomas Vanderham’s Freeride Star Series, FRS, and their XC, AM, Enduro Koryak.

Mavic

DeeMax Ultimate

The DeeMax Ultimate is designed to be one of the most lightweight DH designed wheelsets on the market. It just breaks the 2 kilo barrier at 1965g (claimed) for the pair. The wheelset features a 20mm front hub and 150mm x 12mm rear hub. The Ultimate features double butted bladed spokes for lighter weight and more aero efficiency. The current Deemax wheelset will still be availbe but this wheelset offers a narrower (21mm) rim profile, lighter weight, will ding a bit easier so pinch flatting or biting the tire will be harder, but is good for those seeking the top spot on the podium.
