Figuring out what bike is best for me.

Hey Guys,
My name is Max and Im 6' 2" and weigh about 240. Ive been mostly doing urban and alittle dirt jumping with my broken down GT (bmx). Im looking for a new bike mostly used for urban and dirt but I want to start doing some DH and Freeriding can anyone recommend a bike that can crossover from urban to begining DH-Freeride. With a reasonable price tag under $900 would appreciate advise.

Hardtail but eventually Full Suspension.

900 total you'll be hard pressed to find something new. I don't know much about the cheaper bikes but i'd say Used would be your best bet probably. I'd look on ebay/pinkbike/ridemonkey for bikes like the Vagrant / Sirrocho, P-series, Morphine, Yakuza, etc. For 900 you're probably not going too great of a bike that can do Urban/DH.

You could try buying one of these two frames and building it up

The key would be to get a bike with good geometry and good tire clearance so you can run bigger tires in there.

i would look really hard at the GT Chucker or Ruckus models. they are hardtails, and if your just getting into the sport again, the price of a hardtail is hard to beat. plus the simplistic design makes taking care of it pretty easy. there build well and seen to have fairly decent parts. i know the chuckers are kind of a good mulit purpose bike that will give all of the freedom on a bike your looking for. if you were looking for more of a strict dirt jumping or urban bike, take a look at the ruckus models. build solid with a great geometry that makes anyone feel at home. most of these models start around $600 and the most expensive i have seen was the ruckus DJ at alomst $1200. check them out...
