The high-tech Basecamp model joins the Classic to provide cyclists with a secure, weatherproof, convenient way to safely store, protect and charge their bikes.

ALPEN was founded to give cyclists the freedom to ride more and worry less about their bikes being stolen or damaged. The first generation Bike Capsule, the Classic, was built with both form and function in mind. The sleek, modern aesthetic not only solves security and weather-proofing challenges, but also offers a satisfying user experience that appeals to discerning cyclists who treasure their high-end bicycles, both electric and acoustic. 

The newest addition to the ALPEN line-up, the Basecamp, was developed in response to the booming global e-bike market. The Basecamp Bike Capsule is larger than The Classic to accommodate more bike styles, including most e-bikes, cargo bikes and mountain bikes with wide, tall handlebars. Upgraded styling, engineering and features include a gravity-fed rear wheel chock that effortlessly holds bikes upright, as well as an optional internal Hiplok ground anchor that allows bikes to be locked inside the Basecamp using a traditional bike lock.

The integrated, connected smart lock is operated by ALPEN’s mobile app, eliminating the need for physical keys and allowing users to easily and safely share access to stored bikes. It also enables both short and long-term secure parking not only at home, but also at the office, coffee shop, brewery, or even the local bike shop. With just a few clicks on the ALPEN app, cyclists can instantly geolocate a Basecamp Bike Capsule, remotely reserve, unlock, and pay for bike parking.

Both the Classic and Basecamp models feature durable rotomolded construction that offers a suit of armor to protect bikes from the elements and theft. An e-bike charger grommet allows e-bikes to be plugged into a wall outlet and charged while inside the Capsule. Internal peg boards on both sides of the Capsule come kitted out with an array of hooks and bins to offer customizable organization for cycling gear and equipment. Each Capsule can anchor to most ground surfaces, using several methods of attachment, to prevent theft of the entire unit.
