New collection of clipless and flat pedal shoes combines a skid-resistant Panaracer rubber compound and Chrome’s 25+ years of urban cycling gear design.
Portland, Ore – September 15th, 2021 – For the first time in nearly three years, cycling veterans Chrome Industries are back with a new footwear collection that builds upon the brand’s 12 years making iconic, urban cycling shoes and 25+ year history designing the most innovative and durable cycling bags and apparel.
Partnering with legendary tire manufacturer Panaracer, Chrome delivers style-conscious, technical footwear options as cycling continues to boom and urban cyclists grind out more and more miles, clearly favoring bicycles as the mode of transportation.
The renewed line of Pedal and Pro Series footwear is equipped with a signature Panaracer rubber outsole for ride-tested grip and durability and features key updates like improved weatherproofing, added reflective hits for night visibility and fresh pops of color for Fall.
Highly anticipated is the revival of the fan-favorite Chrome Pro Series – SPD compatible bike shoes featuring Chrome’s Flexplate™ technology for pedal power when on the bike and walking/running comfort when off.
The Chrome FW21 footwear collection is a hybrid of style and functionality, made from hydrophobic materials, enhanced durability and protection, and Chrome’s PowerPlate™ Propulsion technology – a rigid nylon shank, fit between the insole and outsole, designed to deliver more power to each pedal stroke, increase arch support, reduce foot fatigue on longer rides and soften footfalls at the heel.
“We are really excited about the revamp of our new Pedal Series. We have had a lot of feedback over the years to bring back SPD compatible footwear, and these shoes are just as versatile on the bike as they are off.” Says Matt Sourapas, Head of Footwear Design. “We built these weather-resistant, extremely durable and extra grippy thanks to the signature Panaracer outsole.”
This latest footwear release from Chrome ends the need to change shoes once you hit your destination, instead offering a sleek, low-profile cycling sneaker that does it all.
