Enve beamed over some details about a new carbon stem they’ve been working on called the Mountain Stem. Available in 40, 55, 70, and 85 mm.
ENVE continues to bolster their position as leaders in the carbon component aftermarket with the announcement that they are now shipping a full-carbon mountain stem capable of trail, enduro, and all-mountain applications. The ENVE Mountain Stem has been developed to elevate ENVE stem performance to match that of ENVE’s mountain handlebars and M-Series wheelsets. The new ENVE Mountain Stem features a full uni-directional carbon fiber body, cold-forged alloy faceplate, and titanium hardware.
Keeping pace with modern frame geometries the Mountain Stem is available in four sizes starting at 40mm and increasing in 15mm increments to 85mm. The 85mm stem tips the scales at just 104 grams while the 40mm weighs just 85 grams making it the lightest all-mountain stem on the market. “To say that we are excited to launch this product is an understatement. Of all the products we’ve launched at ENVE, few have been debated and scrutinized as heavily as our new mountain stem.
All the debate and focused development has resulted in a mountain bike specific stem that has reset the bar in terms of strength to weight performance and ride feel on the trail,” stated ENVE Director of Marketing Jake Pantone. “Last year we launched the World’s first full carbon fiber direct mount DH stem. This development built the foundation upon which our new mountain stem is founded. By applying our knowledge of shapes, laminates, molding techniques and materials, we’ve created a stem that isn’t just carbon for carbon’s sake, but carbon for the sake of ride performance,” stated ENVE VP of Engineering Scott Nielson. The ENVE Mountain Stem is now shipping to ENVE Distributors and Retail Partners worldwide.
