Norco has been busy refining their downhill bike and inside we take a look at the latest 650b carbon prototype they’ve been riding. Check out the Team Norco International bike inside.
The aluminum Norco Aurum has been well received and this latest bike you see here while still in the evolution phase seems to be point in the direction they’re headed. The prototype bike you see here uses a carbon fiber front triangle in conjunction with an alloy rear end. Bryn and Jill have been riding the bike that you see here at Leogang.
Below you can see a closer look at the linkage and swingarm. On the Aurum, Norco has taken an approach to tuning the geometry of their bikes a bit differently than most. They have different chainstay lengths that vary slightly based on the size of the bike. Most manufacturers tend to outfilt a given bike model with the same chainstay and alter only the front triangle for geometry changes. It will be interesting to see if this carry’s over and what other tweaks they do once this bike finally makes its way to production.
The team is also using the Industry Nine wheelset setup tubeless and is having good success with it to date.
