Jeff Steber and Intense Cycles pride themselves in stimulating their local economy. They’ve been able to help other businesses locally by providing them with significant work that they could’ve outsourced elsewhere. The benefits are mutual and helps grow multiple companies as a result.
They’ve transformed their in-house manufacturing quite a bit and have applied new tools and techniques to become a better bicycle company.
They’ve brought a lot of processes in house including heat-treating, straightening, and more. With carbon fiber becoming more and more prevalent they are still trying to find ways to stay local whenever possible.
All of the CNC machined pieces like the linkages, bolts, and derailleur hangers are still made in-house.
