Shoes are an important part of cycling and Specialized has some new offerings for 2014 worth taking a look at. Learn about some of the 2014 Specialized shoes including the new S-Works Trail, Rime, and the Comp shoe inside.
Specialized has developed a new S-Works Trail shoe this year that is an evolution of their previous S-Works Evo shoe.
They’ve redesigned it and have managed to implement a lot of new features that many riders will dig like the rubber sole, carbon fiber, the BOA closure system, and more. Watch the video above to learn more about all the benefits.
Reinforced toe that helps with any rocks you may end up kicking.
Carbon was used in the sole to improve power transfer.
The rubber outsole allows for great wet traction, improved forgiveness over the plastic soles that are on common XC shoes. If you’ve ever had to walk up rocks with clipless shoes you know the benefit this new outsole can provide. They also offset the spikes to help with walking / hiking.
They’ve managed to hit the same weight with this new S-Works Trail as the S-Works Evo shoe with all these new features (370g) which is no small feat.
Colors: White/Black, Black, Black (wide)
Sizes: 38-49 (5.75 – 14.5)
MSRP: $350 (USD)

The Comp MTB shoe takes a lot of cues from the S-Works Trail shoe you see above but in a more cost effective package ($160).
The Comp MTB shoe has one BOA closure and two velcro straps
Toe reinforcement similar to the S-Works Trail shoe on the Comp MTB
The base uses nylon instead of carbon in comparison to the S-Works but provides some more compliance and comfort
