2013 Twenty6 Products f1.2 Stem

11/15/2012 : sicklines

Twenty6 Products have revised their trail bike stem for 2013. They’ve labeled it the Twenty6 f1.2. Inside we take a look at it and you can see some detailed photos, product specifications, and a few pictures of their shop in Bozeman, MT where the Twenty6 Products are made.

The f1.2 stem is designed for the all-mountain / trail bike rider. We asked Tyler what the design goals were of the f1.2 stem and he said that

The main design constraints I was after on this stem was reducing the weight, increasing adjustability, increasing steer tube clamp force, all while maintaining a knee friendly clamp design with a unique look.  I really wanted something different than anyone else out there.

The Twenty6 f1.2 stem is made out of 6061 aluminum and is a flip flop design so you can run it to have either 0 degree rise , or 6 degrees depending on its orientation.

The Twenty6 f1.2 stem installed easily on our bike and has been working well. The new clamping design has a strong amount of clamping power to the steerer tube as well. Stiffness is pretty decent too and we’ve had no issues with the Twenty6 stem. The knee friendly design also moves the bolts that are typically on the back of the stem to the sides giving a little bit more clearance than most other stems out there.

Twenty6 makes their products out of their machine shop in Bozeman, MT.  I got a few pictures from the guys of their facility and machines that I thought would be interesting to share as well.  The machine shots include the mill’s and lathe, the glass shot is of Tyler’s office which is in the shop, and the other shot is of the assembly area.
