Greg Minnaar’s Santa Cruz Carbon V-10 was on display at Interbike. Check out his prototype Gamut chainguide… It is a bit different than an off the shelf Gamut guide. Check inside for more details.

This is Minnaar’s bike (with most all of the same parts) from World Championships in Monte Saint Anne. It even still has some cut down Wet Screams left on it. Greg also rolls on some prototype carbon ENVE (renamed from EDGE) rims with Chris King hubs. His bike is claimed to sit around the 35lb to 36lb mark as built.

Greg’s drivetrain is all SRAM. The bike has a 10-speed Blackbox short cage rear derailleur and the new Truvativ Descendant cranks. The most intriguing item on Greg’s bike is his Gamut chainguide. It looks like a new prototype lower roller guide design which we may see on future Gamut guides.

The rear of Greg’s bike is pretty standard affair. He uses a RockShox Vivid shock with Ti spring and the bike was shown with Code brakes.

Greg has been running the 2011 RockShox Boxxer with a special DLC coating that RockShox has been testing with select riders.  The coating is supposed to offer smoother actuation as well as being slippery so that mud and debris don’t stick to the stanchions quite as easily.

Greg’s shifter gets the custom Blackbox treatment from SRAM. Being able to use the same size wrench on all cockpit bolts is a benefit for the mechanic when they’re under pressure to get a bike setup quickly. Greg’s cockpit was finished off with some fresh Steve Peat’s Lizard Skins grips.
