Elka had a brand new fork cartridge on display as well as a highly updated Stage 5 shock. Check inside for a video with Patrick Tellier going over the features of the new cartridge as well as the updates to the Stage 5 shock for 2011.
2011 Elka Stage 4 Fork Cartridge
Fits: FOX 40, 2010 BoXXer, FOX 36
Designed to be very easy to install as there is little that the consumer needs to do to install this new damper.
Low maintenance – The system separates damping oil from lubrication oil. Elka says most users won’t need to service the cartridge but once a year and they should be able to get by with just lubricating the seals and replacing lubrication oil in the lowers during a season.
Nitrogen pressurized design utilizing piston and shim stacks.
Pressured cartridge has ~40psi so you will most likely have to drop the spring rate on your fork to compensate.
External compression (~18 clicks currently low speed) and external low speed rebound adjustable (25 clicks currently).
Internally the fork is shimmed and allows Elka to tune the cartridge system for different riders needs and wants (high/low rebound & compression)
Available soon, in limited production
Three tunes will be available
Medium-Average tune designed for a more average racer or those looking for a bit more performance
Soft version that is designed for the recreational rider
