Fabien’s Makulu is a hybrid of sorts combining Makulu geometry with Kalula tubing and linkage. The linkage borrowed from the Kalula design makes the suspension a bit more progressive. The Kalula tubing make the Makulu frame a bit lighter as well.

Fabien’s bike is constructed from a lot of top shelf parts. Crank Brothers wheels, RaceFace Atlas cranks, and SRAM X.0 drivetrain let Fabien put the power down with out weighing too much. BOS  suspension front and rear really help the Makulu eat up rough terrain and the Formula ONE brakes are powerful, easy to modulate, and some of the lightest weight on the market.

Fabien’s 4X bike is a prototype Ndiza. It shares some common bits (like tubing) with Morewood’s marathon XC bike, the Zula. It is very lightweight coming in complete at sub 26 lbs.

It will be intersting to see if this is the new Ndiza come 2011 or if this is only a one off prototype to drool over.
