Yakima HighRoller
Issues and Concerns:
Locking Hardware:
The cord for locking the bike to the tray could stand to be a little bit longer. It works well for XC/Road bikes, but if you’ve got an odd shaped bike it could prove to be a little harder to secure the bike to the rack.

The tray doesn’t lock to the rack unless you buy the SKS accessory lock housing. It would be nice if the rack had a metal retention piece underneath the main front section of the tray that latched onto the rack and locked as well.
Adjusting the HighRoller:
The Highroller is easy to adjust but it could do a bit more. Tightening down the front wheel with the knob works, but I found that it was easier to tighten down the rack by pushing on the arm and then tightening down the knob. Doing this enabled a more secure/tighter feel for me. In addition to tightening, in order to depress the red button, it wasn’t as simple as pressing the red button. The red button could only be pressed if you loosened the tightening knob a bit or pressed up on the tightening arm. Removing bikes off the roof was a bit harder because of this but it wasn’t too bad.
Tightening the HighRoller during the initial setup is easy. On roof racks, its a good idea to make sure things are snug before taking off on a trip. Doing these checks on the HighRoller system is a bit harder as the way it tightens to the front is locked in behind two plastic clasps that help give the rack some additional security. You can’t tighten down the front of the HighRoller tray with the plastic side pieces on the rack and there is no under tray access to tighten/make sure the rack is tight.

The covers that slide over the side of the front of the HighRoller are made of plastic and snap into place. I didn’t particularly enjoying having to remove these to make sure the tray was secured and they also interfere slightly with the rack if you have the windshield screen.
No water drainage:
Yakima included no drainage holes in either of the wheel trays of the rack. This would have been a nice added touch.
