Yakima HookUp

Introduction:
While not glamorous or super technical, bike racks are an important piece of equipment to have when transporting your bike to and from locations. We all have to face this issue at some time or another. Having a good rack that you know holds your bikes securely and is easy to use is of paramount concern.
For us riders in the downhill and freeride ranks hitch mount tray style racks tend to work very well. Odd shaped tubing and bike construction create problems when trying to use other styles of racks that secure your rig via the frame. Improperly secured bikes can cause damage to your bike in the way of broken parts and marred paint finishes, which no one wants.
In this review we’ll be taking a look at the Yakima HookUp 1 ¼†rack. It’s a tray style rack that has similar features to other racks on the market but implements a few different tweaks on the familiar theme. The HookUp comes in a 1 ¼†version, as well as a 2″ version, both of which carry 2 bikes in standard configuration.
