Introduction:
Each year manufacturers design and produce new products that are changed and improved in a number of ways. Sometimes they are purely cosmetic changes, while other times the changes are more drastic. In the end the consumer is challenged to decide on whether or not each new model is worth the purchase over competing products in the market or ones they already own.
Yakima is no slouch in this area. Each year they try to improve their product line in order to make their products more durable, easier to use, and offer more functionality. Last year we reviewed the HookUp from Yakima during our Hitch Mount Tray Style Rack Roundup. For 2008 Yakima has changed the design of their popular tray style hitch mount rack and gave it a new name – The HoldUp. We decided to take a look at Yakima’s new rack and see what features they’ve improved as well as what areas still need some work.
