Smith Warp Star Goggle Review
Goggle body
The Warp Star goggle body is one of the more flexible goggles we’ve looked at. Being flexible and incorporating outriggers into the frame let the Warp Star form to your face and adjust for different helmet openings. The face foam itself is very plush and allows for a good fit without having to apply lots of strap pressure.

Body Highlights
- The frame is made of highly flexible urethane that makes the goggle easy to conform to your face.
- The frame of the Warp Star is wider than some of the other goggles we tested giving ample breathing room around the eyes. The flexibility of frame allows it fit inside helmets easier than if it were more stiff.
- The strap is easily adjustable.
- The frame has been designed to use an articulating outrigger positioning system that allows the goggle to be compatible with various helmets and apply even facial pressure.
- The F.A.T. 3-layer face foam on the Warp Star is the softest I tested. Smith designed the F.A.T. foam to wick sweat as well as be hypoallergenic.
- The frame of the Warp Star is a classic translucent fade with several options for color matching.
- The Warp Star is available in either standard configuration or as a Racer Pack with Smith’s Roll Offs system pre-installed.
- Smith Lifetime Warranty.
Some improvements to the goggle body
- The face foam is really soft. It seemed to have a loose nap, giving off fuzzy excess during the initial break in period but went away after use.
- The Warp Star had one of the shortest goggle depths of the models we tested. More space could have been given between the face and lens for added ventilation especially along the bottom and sides.
- Since the frame is bigger and wider it could pose some helmet compatibility issues. Since it’s flexible it can be made to fit any of the helmets we tried it just needed some adjusting.
- Nose guard must be purchased separately.
- There is no goggle bag included.
- Since the frame is clear translucent on top, I found that I would receive more light from above the goggle. This can cause glare in certain situations.
