Smith Top Fuel Goggle Review
Lenses
The Top Fuel normally comes with a color matching lens to match the frame color. With the Racer Pack the stock lens is switched out for the XCL lens, which is designed to facilitate easier film advancement when using the Roll Offs system. For those that like to tailor their lens to the lighting conditions Smith offers a full array of accessory lens.

Roll Offs System
*note this information is from Smith regarding the features of the Roll Offs system. We did not have the correct conditions available to fully test the Roll Offs System to our liking.
Smith developed the Roll Offs system to alleviate some of the problems that traditional tearoff’s have. The Roll Off system allows the rider to easily clear their vision during riding by simply pulling the cord to advance the film. The rider no longer has to worry about problematic tearoff installation or after race clean up.
- Each Roll Offs cartridge provides between 25 and 35 clear views – this is far more than traditional tearoff’s can provide, saving money and creating no waste.
- Optically clearer than tearoff’s – by only having one extra layer to look through the Roll Offs provide clearer vision than looking through multiple traditional tearoff’s.
- XCL Lens for easy film advancement – the XCL lens has ultrasonically welded dots on the lens to create tiny bits of space between the lens and the film. This extra space allows the lens to slide easily across the lens due to less direct contact with the lens. Since the dots are very minute you don’t have to worry about debris getting in between the lens and the Roll Offs film.
- Easy installation - the installation process isn’t difficult to perform and works like it should.
