Saris Cycle-On Pro

Issues and Concerns:

Receiver Tolerance:

I would have liked to have seen the receiver bar be slightly larger to take up some of the slack when mounted in my receiver. Even with the screw tightened as much as possible the rack still had a little play up and down once installed.

Folding Access:

While the hitch does tilt up to be stowed when not in use the rack does not tip down for access to the rear of the vehicle as the Thule T2 rack offers.

Non-adjustable capacity:

With the Thule T2 and the Yakima Hook-Up you can choose to install one or two of the bike trays. With the Saris you always have to carry the entire rack system with you.

Non-adjustable tray orientation:

The tray positions are not adjustable on the rack itself. Due to the fixed construction of the rack if it were needed to adjust the trays to the left or to the right or front to back to alleviate bike interference with each other or the vehicle this would not be possible.

Safety:

Depending on your vehicle the rack could pose several safety hazards. Due to the fact that the rack holds the bikes close to the rear of your vehicle tail light and license plate visibility can be diminished. The Cycle-On Pro does not come with license plate relocation hardware. The rack does come with a piece of reflective sticker to mount on the end of the rack in order to heighten visibility. Also be aware of the width of the rack in order to estimate whether or not the rack will stick out past the sides of your vehicle.
