Oakley Crowbar MX Goggle Review
Goggle Body
The Oakley Crowbar MX body is one of the more unique looking goggles on the market. By incorporating the outriggers into the goggle frame design Oakley has made the Crowbar MX look stylish and perform exceptionally well. These outriggers actually help distribute balanced pressure across the entire goggle frame. When the goggle is in place this balanced pressure helps to keep the goggles from slipping or moving about as well as feel more comfortable on your face.

Body Highlights
- The Crowbar MX’s urethane body forms well to face and fits comfortably due to its flexibility and outrigger system.
- The frame has a smaller sized viewing area but still offers exceptional peripheral vision.
- Generous room is given between the lens and the face foam in order to allow for ventilation and fog prevention.
- Oakley’s triple-layer face foam is very soft and has the ability to wick sweat away on hot days.
- Venting on the Crowbar is exceptional with large mesh covered upper, lower, and side openings.
- The removable nose guard is a nice feature and doesn’t impede breathing while offering added protection against rocks and debris.
- The strap is easily adjustable and has 3 lines of silicone for added grip.
- Oakley has created a multitude of body color options for those into color coordinating.
- Oakley has added an additional tearoff post on the outrigger in order to keep your tearoff’s from flapping around and impeding your vision.
Some improvements to the goggle body
- The silicone lines on the strap could be done in a squiggly pattern with a thicker bead for added grip due to more surface area. The current silicone lines do their job but other company’s offer even more grip.
- The strap is not readily replaceable if you have problem.
- Changing the lens on the Crowbar is not the swiftest of the models we tried. Oakley’s method of securing the lens is similar to other companies but the frame tolerance around the lens is tighter than most goggles making the lens change more difficult.
- The Storage/Cleaning bag is white and will get dirty easily.
- The goggle face foam is a bit on the smaller side, fitting closer to the eyes than some of the larger framed goggles.
