Morningstar Drumstix
written by: J.V. Nixon
History:

Having worked in steel mills to nuclear power plants, Paul Morningstar brings thirty years worth of experience and industrial standards to bicycle maintenance, from preventative maintenance to generalized assembly work. He also held a job managing the R & D at an electronics firm.
His love of both physics and the bicycle have brought new productivity tools to market.
The Product:
The Drumstix are a quick and easy way to true a rotor. Whether you’re a manufacturer, or a mechanic of some sort, the Drumstix is a tool that everyone should have in their tool chest if they have disc brakes. Some may say a crescent wrench can work just as good, but these tools offer a quick more precise way of truing damaged disc rotors. There are other disc truing tools on the market, but the Drumsticks remain unchallenged in my eyes as the best tools for this job. They work so well and only require two hands. You’ll have a rotor true in no time.
How it works:
The Drumstix work very easily. First you identify the trouble spot, set the two guide tools on each side, and use the adjusting tool to bend it toward or away depending on which way it is bent.

Using the R2.O.C TECH you can add a touch of more technology to more accurately correct rotor abnormalities.
Paul Morningstar also sells a 20mm adapter as well as a caliper adapter (that works with Lefty forks, and DH rear wheels that use 10/12mm).
Build Quality:
The drumstix are built well and strong. No other rotor truing tool comes close to the quality and craftsmanship of the Morningstar Drumstix.
The main tool is 6.5mm thick and just over 175mm long.
It also doubles as a beverage opener
The two outside levers are also just as good and offer ample thickness to hold the rotor steady.

Conclusion:
There are other disc truing tools on the market, but the Drumstix remain unchallenged in my eyes as the best tools for this job. They work so well and only requires two hands. You’ll have a rotor true in no time. Teamed with the R2O.C. TECH it becomes quite the dynamic duo. At only $27 its a solid investment.
