Carter Holland approached us to see if we were interested in doing a review on one of their bikes to see what we thought about it. Our experience with this project has been impressive to say the least.

We got a hold of their Riot frame and carefully selected the pieces to go on it. The Riot comes in a few sizes (21.5″ or 22″). Its geometry is the same as their more expensive MOB frameset that is built by S&M in the USA. The Riot frame differs in that it’s not made in the USA, uses different cromo tubing, fewer sizes, no ISCG tabs, and lacks gyro tabs. If you looking for a complete bike, they also make a .357 that offers the same geometry with a very affordable build kit.

Carter originally started making hardtails for him and his friends since he couldn’t find one he liked. The resultant geometry that the Blk Mrkt bikes use are ones not dreamed up on a computer but from real world feedback from some very skilled riders. Their experience and expertise shows the instant you throw a leg over one of their bikes.

The Riot is hands down one of the best hardtails you can buy and it can be used for a variety of applications ranging from gated racing, to urban and dirt jumping, as well as much more.

All of the Blk Mrkt hardtails are priced competitively and you’re getting a bike designed to work where you ride and not just a bike built to fill a gap that you’ll typically see with bigger companies. See more on the build and what we thought of the bike in the next pages.
