Interbike 2008:

Shimano Interbike 2008

Shimano’s presence seems to grow more and more each year. This year was no different and with the revamped Saint gruppo, the new battery powered Dura Ace, and their custom shoe fitting station, their booths were hopping to say the least.

We’ve already gave you all the info on the new Saint gear but we managed to snap some cutouts of the new Saint crankset. You can read more about the 2009 Saint gruppo here.

Shimano also was showing off their Yumeya upgrade kit for XTR. It is essentially a “hopup kit” for various XTR components that add a little bling and reduce some weight. The nice thing about getting a kit like this directly from the manufacturer is that the parts are made to work without modifications.

Shimano had a few new shoes as well that they were showing off.

They made some limited hemp shoes that feature their Viabram sole.

They have redesigned their platform shoe (SH-MP56L) alittle bit and now market it more as an All Mountain shoe and have named it SH-AM40. It features the Vibram sole as well, and has inserts you can put in to increase the shoe’s stiffness should you desire.

They have also redesigned the look of their previous SPD DH/DX shoe (SH-MP66L) a little as well and now it is a SH-FN22. The white should draw a bit more attention, but it will show wear and tear easier than the previous black model.
