Knolly Interbike 2008
Knolly debuted a new downhill prototype at Interbike this year that they’re hoping to have ready for the 2010 season. The first prototype they’ve developed embodies similarities between the Knolly bike lineage that should bode well for them.

Noel from Konlly showed us some of the details of their unnamed dedicated downhill race bike. See the details in the video.
A lot of the features and technology from the current Knolly’s (V-tach, Endorphin) were put in to practice when they created this new bike. Some of the features are outlined below:
- Features Knolly’s dual four bar linkage

- Designed to have a low leverage ratio using a 9.5 x 3″ shock
- Has 5 angular contact bearings
- 150mm rear end

- Low foward idler pulley made of out 7075 and has a dual row angular contact bearing
- Idler pulley has multiiple positions in .5mm increments for multiple chain lines 56 56.5 57.5 and 58mm
- The pulley allows for decoupling of the chain a bit and helps maintain nimbleness as the chainstays are shorter than the linkage.

- Similar travel amount as the V-tach, but designed as a DH race bike
- Aiming for 11.5lb frame w/coil shock

- 8.4″ of travel
- 64 degree head angle at the moment
- The dual four bar linkage is aimed at giving riders good active braking, great pedaling characteristics, and high lateral rigidity

- Production in 2010, prototyping for 2009 with some soon to be announced downhillers
- Linkages and other CNC’d parts are made in house right now, SAPA will be doing the tubing and welding
- Price will be available as a complete and a frameset but is to be determined. Looking to be about similar pricing to the V-tach.
- Variety of shocks available (CCDB, Fox, Vivid, Roco)
- Available as a high end build kit or frame only
