Interbike 2007:

Transition Interbike 2007

Transition Bikes have created some real knockouts for their bike lineup and continue to gain steam with their new offerings.

The Blindside is their new DH/FR bike and it was a big hit at the outdoor demo. There were never any bikes really that weren’t checked out during the demo, which says a lot.

I rode the Blindside down Bootleg Canyon and it’s definitely an impressive bike. Pretty much immediately it felt very natural and I was ripping down Ginger like I’d been riding the bike all year. The geometry is pretty dialed on the Blindside and there’s not too much I’d change on it to make the geometry any better angles wise. It felt progressive and settled perfectly. Standover might be a bit high for shorter people. It took the big hits well and was easy to maneuver around the tight rocky mountain.

The weight of the large Blindside you see above weighed in at ~42 lbs. Another note is on the linkage bolt colors. Transition will be offering the option to purchase anodized linkage bolts in all 5 of their colors for bike customization.

The other new bike Transition brought was called the Siren. Aimed for the women, the bike is still a prototype but was a huge hit. I threw a leg over it and the Siren has got some really low standover, was real easy to pick up, and the front end was light.

Transition brought a good bit of bikes to the show. Everything but the hardtail was there and you can check out more pictures in the gallery of the bike details with different angle shots as well as multiple build configurations of the Blindside.

Transition was also showing off their new version of their Temple stem. It’s much lighter than the previous model and will the option available for 1 1/8″ as well as 1.5″ steerer tubes. It will be available in all 5 anodized colors so you can match it with other Transition anodized colored pieces.
