Maxxis Interbike 2007

Maxxis has got a new tire coming out that looks to be quite good from what I’ve seen so far.
The Ardent will be available in two sizes that we care about, the 2.4 and a 2.6. It’s a high volume casing so if you’ve seen a 2.4 advantage, I’d expect this 2.4 to be of a similar size. It will be available in two durometers, 60a and their lovely 3C compound (70/42/40 mix). And will be available in the 2-ply DH casing with butyl-protected sidewalls. Weight is TBD at this time but I’d expect it to be slightly lighter, or the same weight as the DHF offerings.

It has an aggressive tread in a high-volume casing. Designed with great traction in mind, it’s made for the racer. Large block side knobs, edges for high speed corners, braking/accelerating design with ramped knobs to help minimize rolling resistance. This tire could be a very popular tire among racers next year.
