Lightweight Mobile Tool Kit

Sometimes you can’t take a full load of tools, so a lighter tool kit is needed. The lightweight tool kit we have compiled is enclosed in a small Craftsman 17” Truck Box. It doesn’t feature every single tool you’d need, but it’s pretty detailed and should fit a lot of people’s common repair needs.

Whether it’s space constraints, or not enough money to build a bigger kit, the lightweight kit can be very effective. Having a kit like this can save you from either paying out the nose at a bike shop, or help your buddy fix his bike so he can keep riding.

As stated earlier the most important aspect of an effective tool kit is the ability to fix your bike. Substitute and add tools as necessary to your kit to meet your needs.

Lightweight Setup

Enclosure selection: You want a toolbox that is lightweight and easy to move. Something like a small electrical toolbox or a compact truck box works well depending on how many tools you want to bring

Tools to go inside:

Expanded view of tools to be included

All tools packed in nicely

Bigger Items:

The purpose of the lightweight tool kit is meant to be a fairly inexpensive tool box that will most likely get you out of a sticky situation. While it’s not complete with big tools, it is effective and should be fine for most people as long as you maintain your bike. Parts can be added or subtracted as need be and if you have specialty tools, don’t forget to include them.

If you’re looking for a more complete set that is still portable check out our Comprehensive Mobile Tool Kit.
