Banshee's 2008 Downhill sled is looking good. 7/8.5" of travel, bushings, etc

This is my mockup that i posted 1 hour before yours on the banshee blog (http://bansheebikes.blogspot.com/2007/11/banshee-legend-mki-light-and-fast.html). From what i can see from your one, you have used the same base as my one but you made a mistake: you have cut a piece off from the boxxer's stanchions, and so the final result is not entirely right

Yep i chopped some of the stanchion to accommodate for the shorter headtube but started with a clean slate over on your design making it more realistic.
I made it slacker the way it most likely will turn out (aligning the headtube with the fork), leveling the wheels so that the bike sits level, aligning the rear wheel with the hole in the dropout, placing the cranks in the center of the bottom bracket, etc. That picture above isn't the same one i saw earlier on there.
I did use the V10 build kit as well. All these pictures are is a mock up. The proportions aren't right and its just meant to give an idea of what the bike built up will look like.

haha, thought I would throw another one in from a guy on a german Forum.
It is impossible to get scale accurate as that picture isn't in perspective, you will just have to wait to see photos of prototypes!

Hehe nice, I'm liking the interest in this new Legend. Should be great, nice work. Did you get my message about the headset cups builttoride?

I told Jay that you guys should make headset cups that fit into the steerer tube allowing you to tweak the head angle.
Shouldn't be hard to do. You'd just have to stagger the holes in the headset cups. It should get you between a .5 - 1.5 degree adjustably.

yeah, I did consider that adjustability, but after talking to a few racers (some of whom had ridden bikes with adjustable head angle), they all said that they would just set it and leave it, as it changed the feel of the bike so much that they would have to get used to it at easy setting, and that it was definately not worth the extra weight that would be added to the frame. They all felt that if the head angle was right in the first place, then it didn't need to be adjustable. so yeah, I pretty much took that advice and went with it.

Ah not the headtube. The actual headset reducer cups. Like this one from Ridemonkey. offset the holes for the bearings like so

i figured i would put my first post on this fine looking stead. Really impressed with all of the Banshee's this year. I have ripped on a proto Rampant and can't wait for a production version.
The Mk1 Looks like it has a lot of potential to be a world class ripper.
Now I must surf around the rest of the site and do some posting so i don't look like a NooB!
;)

Hahaha. Indeed, big steps for banshee this year in my opinion.
