just got my new ride..huge thanks to Jay@Banshee
Mythic Wildcard Slopestyle bike...5"/6.5" travel, 8.5lb frame and DHX Air shock weight, total bike weight 35lb
built it with some pimping parts, gone for Syncros BHT Kevlar tires, Singletrack rims on Hope Pro 2 hubs and Stan's No-Tubes to keep the wheels light, and it accelerates like a rocket!!

Sick bike Rob. What bike were you riding before? What kind of riding are you going to do on it?
The new banshee's are much improved!

previous bikes were 02 specialized Big Hit, 03 banshee Scream, 05 Devinci Ollie, 05 Devinci Johnson, 06 mythic Scream, 06 mythic Wraith, 07 Mythic Chaparral....
Wildcard:
its being marketed as a slopestyle bike, but we see it as a genuine all rounder for freeriding - or perhaps the perfect mid travel "play bike"
at 35lb and with full length seatpost and platform damping at both ends its easily stable and light enough to pedal anywhere..I've taken it up a big hill this morning and it was pretty easy, way easier than the chaparral
it feels slightly longer and lower and the front, kinda less "chopped out" and easier to keep weight on the front tire in the corners
its really refreshing for me to get this bike because though i loved the "big bikes" they have always been overkill for the UK unless you are doing stupidly big stuff...and I'm sure the Wildcard will take as much abuse as the Chap did

Yea, i'm glad Banshee listened to the changes to the Chap. I rode the wildcard at interbike for a run down bootleg and it was worlds better. Its definitely refreshing to know that their bikes are progressing as well. The full length seatpost on the Wildcard is great. No more telescoper, etc. Banshee this year is becoming an option for a lot of people I think with the changes they've realized they needed to make.
35lbs is a very nice weight I feel. For a wildcard i think the ideal weight is ~33 - 36lbs to maintain its playfulness and work the best.
There was the extreme where people were doing some huge stuff on hardtails/rigid bikes and on XC-tires. Then the big bike revolution where you had 45-50lb bikes and super monsters. And what i'm calling now as the refinement period where people are starting to realize the benefits of a lightweight bike without compromising strength and suspension. Across the board, all parts have gotten a lot better. Stronger, Stiffer, etc.
A little birdie told me that bike is leaving you for a little while :(
Make sure you break her in before you get sloppy seconds!
