How does the Blindside sizing run? I'm 5' 8.5", think I'd be better off on a small or a med.? I'm thinking small...

What bike do you have now? I'd compare the #'s and see.

Here's the one we're building.
Its right below 38 right now. There will be a different fork / shock / front rotor on it next week. 37.5lbs is going to be easy.
There'll be a complete build writeup in two weeks when all the official parts get on it but it has to be ridden this weekend :D
For now you can try and guess what all the other parts are on there right now.

JV-
How big does the large Blindside feel? I'm 6'5" and want to make sure it will be long enough.
When can we expect to the final build and weight to be up?
Thanks!

I'd look at the geo #'s and compare with your current bike to see where it fits in with your style. I'm 6'3 and it feels pretty comfortable for me as a DH bike.
The build is done. We're just waiting on getting some parts back which got delayed. It'll be out early next year as its holiday season now. Rest assured, its below 37.5 as well and rides very nice.

Can you measure the downtube for me?
Are you guys running the floating brake? If so, how do the braking characteristics change between the two mounting holes?
I can't wait to see the completed build!

Sure, the downtube measures 27 3/4" from the center of the bb to the center of the headtube.
I've only ridden it without the floater for now but i'll try out the floater as well soon. Transition was short on them during the first shipment. I've heard a few variations on the two holes.. Kevin told me at interbike it was to use a smaller rotor (but they don't make a 6" floater kit).

Thanks for measuring the downtube.
I think the lower mounting hole will make the rear end squat under braking. When Dirt did an article and review of Fabien's bike I believe they said the ultra low mounting hole for his floater was to get the bike to squat under heavy braking. I'll try and dig up the article.

Yep, that was my same thinking as well when i saw the two holes. I don't have one yet to try it though.

The Blindside is a clean, simple and nice looking bike! I wonder if it performs as well as it looks?
