Just got back from snowshoe last night, and oh boy was that place just unbelievable. I now know the true meaning of the word Mountain bike. That was the gnarliest terrrain I have ever ridden or even hiked down. It was just super technical, floating over huge boulders winding down falls, got to ride the Pro dh course, just f*cking sick. Got to ride with Ray and Rays crew from Cleavland, Ray, Q and the rest of the crew we had a blast did'nt we, Ray was riding this super sic GT-Idrive gearbox frame and we rode with Trevon from Marin bikes and he runs the bike program and trails, that guy is super sic. Well if anyone from Snowshoe reads this kudos to you guys for building super trails. ALso a big thanks to Ray for buying us dinner, that man is down to earth and very thoughtful, thanks Ray. Also he was telling us about all the updates to Rays park there doing and it sounds bad ass, he said pics should be up by this weekend. ATTENTION PEOPLE IF YOU RIDE DOWNHILL OR FREERIDE YOU MUST CHECK OUT SNOWSHOE, THAT PLACE WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK AT AND RIDE MOUNTAIN BIKES. Well I've ranted enough Peace out rippers. Also where is this place in Pennslyvania Has anyone been to HIGHLAND MTB PARK, I believe it is in NH.

Hehe sounds like you've been converted to what real dh is all about :)
Ray is a really great guy indeed. Met him a few times as well.
Tons of great places to ride...
Highland is a fun place. Sugar mtn in NC, Windrock, plattekill, etc , etc
Ended up going to 7springs and Wisp.
7springs the trail right now is beginner/intermediate. Fun trail though

Wisp, MD (180mi north of snowshoe), almost made the trek down to snowshoe since everywhere was sold out of hotels saturday night around wisp but found a place finally in morgantown.
They don't have the elevation of Snowshoe / Diablo but its well worth the visit but the lift is real slow.

Thanks JV, yup I'm converted I think I'll try and get my grubby hands on a EC-D bike if there is any left. Also lets do some rippin, I'm up for driving all night riding all-day and driving back all night if need be sleep's overrated, just kiddin, but anyone who wants to go to these places I'm in, shit I got a enclosed 12 ft trailer, lets load it up and GO GO. Before the year is out I would like to hit up Diablo and Highland. I'll split gas lodging whatever it takes to go I just wanna ride.

oh buddy... you might be in for some trouble :D
What bike do you have now? Or did you rent one?
So what kind of gas mileage does this thing get?

Oh buddy is right, I can't find an EC-D complete or frameset to save my life. Right now I'm ridding a Session 77, I put a Rocco TST Coil on the rear :D and 66 RC2 on the front, and it works very good but I would like more of a Down hill specific bike, and the price on the EC-D looked very good. JV this snowshoe trip really has got me interested in Downhill racing, so I would like to have a bike for freeride, my session, and a downhill bike for racing and practicing. SO any suggestions would be great.

OH and the gas mileage is 17 without trailer about 15 with trailer. I had to fill up twice to get to snowshoe and that was over 650 miles one way.

Yea i've been ripping on the 07 ECD testing some parts out and its a good bike. You can give it a go if you'd like some weekend.
The 08 model is looking even better and has a lot of things i wanted. If you're looking for one of the best deals on a real DH bike, the ECD is going to be hard to beat for the money. Also if the GT DHi is available in the PRO version over here that'd be another option. The giant glory is a bit porky out of the box, but is another great deal.
That's pretty decent gas mileage considering. So how many ppl / bikes can you carry with/without the trailer?
September is pretty full , October/Nov should be a sweet time to hit up some of these spots.

I believe I will wait and get a 08 ec-d but I like the color scheme of the 07 its more racey looking whats the difference between the 08 and 07 they look similiar. What are your thoughts on a session 10. Also my truck is an F-150 supercab so its got a back seat. I've had in the bed 4 big bikes full sets of gear bags and still plenty of room. Now the trailer its a 6/12 v-nose enclosed, seriously you could fit easily 10 bikes in that trailer no problem. Also I have zero issues with loading up the truck and going or loading up the truck and trailer and going and going with anyone who wants to rip. As far as sept goes I have alot of things going on so oct-nov is perfect for me. Just let me know and if your boys wanna rip we can load up that truck to the gills with bodys and bikes.
