February How-To Contest

We’re holding a contest to see which riders can come up with the most helpful and detailed technical how-to article. We know that there are a lot of enthusiasts out there that have some great tricks up their sleeves when it comes to building and repairing bikes. This is your chance to get a little recognition as well as possibly win some great prizes.

The prizes:
We currently have Deity Components, Evomo, and Rogue MTB involved to sponsor this contest. The prize offerings from the sponsors can be seen here. To distribute the prizes we’ll pick the 3 best How-to articles and send out emails to the winners on a date to be determined after the entry time frame is over. Whoever returns their email first with their choice of prize gets first dibs.

The judging:
The criteria used to determine the winners will be based on:

1. Level of detail - how clear, detailed, and thorough the instructions are
2. Picture quality - be sure to take adequate pictures to illustrate the steps needed
3. Difficulty - articles with extensive steps will be scored higher than simple projects

*Non-winning articles will still have the possibility of being placed on the site if they are deemed worthy with honorable mention.

The submission criteria:

• Submissions should be sent to admin@sicklines.com in the form of a Word document with all large pictures in a zipped attachment.
• All pictures submitted can have the author’s name watermarked on the photos in the bottom right or left hand corner.
• Photos should be no larger than 1280 x 1024 pixels.
• Check our existing tech articles as duplicates will not be accepted.
• All submissions must be in by Feb 28 at 11:59pm PST.
