Event Details:

For 2011, Sol Vista and their respective partners (SRAM, Truvativ, RockShox, and others)  have put together quite the package! Initially, this race was to be held during Memorial Day weekend, but with excess snow during the winter this race was postponed until June 16-19th 2011. With a $25,000 pro purse and $25,000 in prizes for the amateurs, this race has drawn some top level athletes including Greg Minnaar, Andrew Neethling, Duncan Riffle, and Jill Kintner to name a few.

The Triple DHip is a G3-formatted DH Stage Race that as you can guess, means three races! All for a good price at 75-85$ for 3 days of lift access racing.

Starting on Saturday there are two races followed by the third DH race on Sunday.

  1. Sat 10am: DH#1
  2. Sat 2pm: DH #2 (chainless – each entrant gets a free chain from SRAM with their entry)
  3. Sun DH #3 occurs at 11:15am

Day 3 – Sunday June 19th

Greg Minnaar takes the overall at the Triple DHip.  He took home a healthy $7,600.00 for his efforts.  For the pro women, Jill Kintner took the overall and with it $2000.00

Day 2 – Saturday June 18th
DH#1 saw Mikey Sylverstri take a quick lead over Greg Minnaar however after the chainless DH #2, Minnaar would claw back to take the overall lead by 3.97s

Mikey seems to get along well with Sol Vista as he qualified first last year during the 2010 USA DH Nationals and took the DH#1 over Greg Minnaar.

In the pro women’s category, Jill Kintner has a solid lead of 16.25s over Jacelyn Harmony after the first two DH stages.

Greg Minnaar, part of the Santa Cruz Syndicate, made the trip over to support this race.  Look for him to be on the podium come Sunday.

Here Chris Boice, Yeti National Team rider threads it through the trees.  Chris had injury last year at Sol Vista during the nationals and is certainly looking for revenge here.

Sol Vista has been hard at work to get this race up and running with the long winter.  Brad Benedict here enjoys their hard work.

Team Geronimo has lots of young talent here.  They’re hungry for some good results here.
