2009 Sea Otter Classic New Products
Corsair
Corsair has been hard at work and you can get their production bikes now! All models are now available so give Corsair a ring or check out their website for more information on their bikes. We shot some more shots of their Crown at Sea Otter but they also have a fine selection of other bikes available including the Malestorm, König, Ducat, and Marque. The Crown is an interesting DH bike as it can utilize 2 shocks (one is nested in the lower link) as well as having the option to run a 9.5 x3 damper or 10.5 x 3.5 one. We’ve got some plans for a König so stay tuned to learn more about that one on SickLines in the near future.
More pictures of Corsair’s Crown DH can be found in the gallery and on the Corsair website.
e.thirteen
e.thirteen has been busy to say the least. They were showing off their new LG1+ chain guide at Sea Otter that shows some drastic yet functional changes to the famous LG. 1. We got the run down at Interbike last year and have more in store for you in the future about this new LG1+. The general changes make it stronger, lighter, improved mechanically / functionally, but at the same price as the older LG1. Available in two sizes (32-36 or 36-40), each guide is adjustable to fit narrow, regular, or wide angled bikes better as the lower armature is adjustable. Check out our SRS+ preview to learn more about the new SRS guide as well.
Intense
Intense just won’t stop. The Tazer VP is available now for those of you looking for a full suspension 4x/dual slalom machine. Details can be seen on the Intense website.
The Uzzi is another revised bike Intense has re-introduced this year. The Uzzi’s details are also on the Intense website along with the new 951 below. These two new bikes feature updates such as G3 dropouts (3 positions to adjust the bike’s BB height, head angle, and wheelbase), multiple shock mounting positions, VPP2 technology, and more.
It’s worth noting that the 951 does not replace the Socom, or the M6. It’s a different beast in it’s own right. It has 8″ or 8.5″ of travel depending on the hole you mount the 9.5 x 3 shock to. It uses an 83mm BB shell and has re-greasable zerk’s as well to keep things running smoothly in the bearings. It looks ready to rip down the hill to say the least. Jeff Steber (Intense owner and designer) knows how to build beautiful bikes. Read more details below or on the Intense website.
More pictures new pictures of the 951 have been added to the gallery of the Red and Black colorways
MRP
MRP had a few new things to show off as well. The new guide below (1.X (”won bye”)) is designed for AM type bikes that only use a single ring but don’t need the additional security of the lower roller or bash guard. Adam Craig helped them in developing this fine little guide.
Additionally, MRP was showing off another new guide called the Super-G that is essentially a lighter weight G2 guide. The lower boomerang uses carbon fiber, as well as cutouts in the skid plate. The 36-40t version weighs in at a claimed weight of 197 grams and the 32-36 is expected to weigh 170g according to MRP. The upper arm is also separated to allow for some additional adjustability that some bikes benefit from (odd placed pivots or a dropped chainstay).
More pictures of the new chain guide can be found in the Sea Otter product gallery.
Turner
Turner introduced their partnership with Dave Weagle last year and at Interbike they had their dw-link DHR on display. At Sea Otter they had a few on hand to try out and they look great to say the least. Visit the Turner website to learn more about this new bike, or check out our Interbike information we’ve posted previously to learn more about it.
Intense 951
Intense was on hand with their new 951. They had a couple of different colored versions on display. You can visit their website to find out all of the details on the 951, which they’re planing on having ready for purchase by the end of May. Features include 83mm bb shell, G3 (3 position adjustable dropouts), 64/65 degree head angle, 8″ or 8.5″ of travel, and all in a ~9.5lb package with coil shock. They are planning on offering two versions, one FRO (as seen here) and possibly one non-FRO (with a few less features and less hydro-forming). Check out the Intense website for more, or contact your local Intense dealer.

I was hoping the Marin was going to be more great looking. But whatever it’s in his first stage. Nice Mud-catcher those Po1nt racing pedals…
syncros also remade there AM stem, its 30g lighter
Is it just me or are the boxxers on the marin lowered? they look like they have less travel than usual
[...] Sick Lines Commenti [...]
The Head angle on the Marin looks way too steep unless it sits in like 5″ of travel?
I the photo the rear wheel is elevated and affects the look of the head angle in the picture. It likely has a DH worthy head angle.
Cooool!!! Dirty Dan tires!! Must have!!
I just demo’d a Corsair Konig at the Grassroots Ranchstyle in Grand Junction and let me say, the rear end is quite interesting, in a good way. I hope you get some time on one to write up a review! it seems like it could be a great bike.
