At the Mont Sainte Anne World Cup over the weekend Steve Peat and Sam Hill both donned their new helmets from Troy Lee Designs. The new model is the evolution from their current D2 helmet called the D3. Check inside for more photos.

Information on the new D3 helmet is pretty scarce at the moment. Rumor has it that Peaty and Hill will have a signature model with Palmer also possibly getting one.  Below you can check out some images and video of the new D3 helmet.  Details are supposed to be released at this years’ Crankworx.

The D3 has been rumored to be coming for some time now from TLD.  With riders going faster and faster these days, is the D3 going to provide more protection for riders?  Some riders opt to wear a motocross helmet for these reasons and hopefully the D3 addresses some of these concerns.  Newer helmet standards on this D3? We can only hope so. The D3 looks to have additional venting (and bigger ones) compared to the D2 as seen in the side and back profile shots.

The D3 looks a bit more angular and boxy compared to the D2.  Easily debatable which looks better.
