Park Bike Comparison: Corsair König

Corsair Konig

Corsair Konig

Short travel full suspension bikes are quite popular amongst park / lift assisted riders for a wide variety of reasons.  We’ve decided to build a few up with a static build kit to see how a select group of frames stack up and compare against each other.

The first bike we’ve selected is the Corsair König that is readily available now. See the details of the build kit and read some details on the König inside in our build article. We’ll be updating the build article with a few other park frames. Can you guess the rest of the bike’s we’ll include?

Turner Highline - tough to beat.

    • too bad it’s discontinued, I would love to ride one(Dw or not).

    Banshee Scythe
    Commencal Furious
    Dirt bag?

  • Nice bike, although the shock is going to get a real mud treatment.
How come manufacturers are´nt doing anything to prevent rear shock getting muddy?

Makulu is only bike I remember seeing mudguard for the rear shock straight from the factory…

    • The Santa Cruz V10 also has one but mud guards are a bit rare on a lot of bikes that could benefit from them

Should compare these high zoot bikes to off the shelf bikes- norco, specialized etc…

    • Indeed. At least one of those two is being included… :)

The headset looks just like a sunline. In other words it will suck just like a sunline :) Angular bearings for the win

    • Pablo Tafoya (Corsair) designed the system and I believe licensed the design to Sunline to use. The Corsair version works as advertised and the cups are much taller and thicker / rigid. While the functionality may be the same, the execution seems to be much better. No problems so far with it.

My sunline lasted 3 months before the bearings exploded, seriously a crap design. He should hang his head in shame.
