Spacers

To match up with the 1.5 stems they’ve got spacers that match for a clean finish.

1.5 Spacers are available in the same colors to match the stem and are machined out.  Each set of spacers comes with 4 spacers (3mm, 6mm, and two 12mm)

If you’ve got a 1 1/8 stem they also make spacers for those as well.

We took a look at their 28mm Boxxer Direct Mount Ultra Stem back in December so see here for the details on the Ultra Stem.  It can bolt up to any crown that uses the Boxxer style bolt pattern (2009 Dorado, 2009 Fox 40, RockShox Boxxers).

They have some pretty nice test equipment on hand as well. See the videos below for some load testing and their laser etching a pedal.

Straitline is also prototyping some alternative finishes for next year so if you like the electroless nickel plating finished pedal below, or have any other color ideas let them know what you like and they might just make it.

Awesome stress testing video. You guys ought to do a walk through of I9 also- some pretty impressive shit going on there too as you already know.

  • When are they going to come out with a lever for the elixir brakes? And I’d love to see a longer version of that stem, for people that don’t need a really small reach. Something in the neighborhood of 50mm reach.

  • Nickel plated is sick!

Will they do replacement levers for Avid Elixir?

  • Not sure when but hopefully soon?

Send them an email and ask when, maybe it’ll make them make it faster :D

  • Still no Inner Plate Guide it seems.

  • Hey Remi, the inner guide is our baby, we love it but it needs redesigns to fit the most frames out there, original one i still post on the site.. but hidden is a full round version, we quickly moved to a pack man style one to fit over yolks with the help of Lenosky, only his ride and two of mien have this new style, sicklines covered it way back at a interbike show I beleive.
Here is a shot of Lenosky and his red one mounted for street http://straitline.blogspot.com/2009/03/lenosky-busts-move.html he has been begging for a green one but this desing is too costly at the moment with all the over injecting your mold to the inner plates. So even Jeff has to run what he has until we get over this minor hurdle.

We will release a slick system soon enough and Lenosky will help push /design it.
Elixr’s are already designed just need to hit the magic go button. Poof!

  • Straitline makes some great stuff, but they need to make some levers for post 08 shimano brakes.

  • Hey Bam, last response then i’ll leave this thread.

We are not really a big fan of supporting fads it is easy to say make this and that but as a manufacturer it is always a big question… will they change it in 8 months? So we will lag behind a bit to be sure they are accepted and most importantly do they cross over to other models.

Kind of like making t-shirts for one team at the Super Bowl then they loose and you are like… WTFam I gonna do with all this stuff now! Almost like tha twhen the ychange their wheel design every 8 months.

But we will pick up the pace on the elixr / xt and formulas. We also need to pull up our socks and get more techy!

  • Straitline,

That does make a lot of sense, especially considering how Shimano is with proprietary/random designs. I also think Shimano rivets their new brake lever assemblies together somehow, which could complicate making aftermarket levers for their products. I could be wrong about this though.

That being said, I’m pretty excited about the new levers and will buy some as soon as they come out.

    Bam.

  • Bam, the Shimano levers aren’t riveted together. They are screwed together and you can take them apart.

  • I have a nickel plated stem and it looks wicked. I LOVE the look of Straitline pedals. Nickel plated Elixir levers would be such a sweet ‘new product’ to release.

Please count this as my first in line ticket.

  • those spacers look just like the point-one racing spacers…..

  • Actually I’m pretty shure they copied Point One with the nickel plating, I had never seen it until Point One did it.

  • gold straitline. gold components. i need to be able to match up ck headsets, hubs, bbs.

That green from the specialized enduro comp is soooo hot right now too. make that colour as well.

    and purple too.

or just make me some custom colour stuff when i ask ;)
