Spotlight: Nema Podium and Revolver Clothing

Nema Podium jersey and Revolver pant in action

Nema International has been hard at work designing some of the best technical mountain bike apparel.  They have a wide range of products to meet the needs of the casual person, standard riding apparel, and the race crowd. Their products are designed to perform but additionally we like the styling approach they’ve done on most of their gear.

Inside we take a look at some of their race gear including the Nema Podium Kit, Revolver Pants, Socks, and Gloves.

First up we’ll take a look at the Nema Podium jersey. It features a fade-free sublimated design and uses translink motion fabric.

Additionally, it features mesh ventilation along the armpit panel and back to help facilitate cooling while riding.  The jersey cuff’s feature micro cuffs as well as a vanity-style ribbed collar to keep things looking professional.

The jersey performs as good as it looks and we look forward to riding this gear even more in the future.  Nema also included a spare thread with the jersey which was a nice touch.  Fit and finish with the Podium jersey is as good if not better than a lot of other gear we’ve used.

Moving down to the Podium shorts, these are built quite a bit more uniquely compared to Troy Lee’s.  The shorts have a heavy-duty Cordura outer shell and a moisture wicking mesh lining that really is hard to describe in words.

Additionally, there is air mesh side ventilation and some TPR patches to give you a little extra padding and protection in key areas that often see wear and tear.

The crotch, back, and lower leg feature stretch panels that really help set these shorts apart in the way they fit and flow with you as you ride.

The waist adjusters work great and there is a zippered pocket on the left thigh which was a nice feature to see in a set of race oriented shorts.

The Nema Revolver pants that we rode were a pre-production version but they felt quite good to say the least.  The production ones should be even better and have some additional length according to Nema compared to the one’s we used.

The pants build upon many common features found in the Podium shorts. Utilizing Heavy-Duty 600D Cordura and moisture wicking mesh lining.  The pants didn’t feel too heavy or bulky during use and did a good job at ventilating air.

The sides feature perforated thigh panels as well as crotch, back, and lower leg stretch panels. The pants also feature pre-curved knees and 1000 D Ballistic Nylon Knee with back padding that also help set these pants apart from the competition.

They have a cam lock ratcheting waist adjuster like the Podium shorts as well.

Overall we are quite impressed with the Nema clothing.  They have a clear understanding of what it takes to create clothing that mountain bikers need.

Look to see Nema gear on the top of the podium many times this year as they have a deep connection with many professional athletes (such as the Yeti Factory DH Team) through their high quality products and a high regard for those involved with Nema.

If you’re looking to get some Nema gear, they’re more than willing to answer any questions you might have.  Additionally, they have a contingency program (email info@nemabrand.com) that pays out money to any rider that podium at the races.

You can purchase these and other fine Nema products directly from Nema’s website and through RideSFO.
