Favorite Photos: Event Action 2008

some of our favorite action photos of 2008
Throughout the year of 2008 we traveled to several events to cover the action. We shot a lot of photos and got to witness some spectacular athletes in action. We intend to keep with this trend for 2009.
Check inside for our top 10 favorite photos from 2008 in no particular order.

rider: Justin Wyper | event: Crankworx Colorado
Justin was killing it for most of the Crankworx Colorado event. His superman flips were some of the best of the event. He ended up with a 9th for a final result in Slopestyle with Brandon Semenuk taking the win after his horrindous crash early in the event.

rider: Andrew Taylor | event: Crankworx Colorado
Andrew Taylor and Cam McCaul fought quite a battle for the best trick at Crankworx Colorado. Andrew Taylor won the best combo award with his impressive Back Flip (step-down jump) - Tail Whip over-channel (quarter pipe) - 360 off (quarter pipe deck).

rider: Steve Smith | event: U.S. Open
We had a lot of good shots from the U.S. Open this year but we thought the determined look on the face of Steve Smith was the most appropriate. He went on to take the win beating out a very competitive field including Sam Hill and many other top World Cup downhillers.

rider: Brian Lopes | event: Ray’s Inside Out
For the 2008 opening of Ray’s MTB in Cleveland, OH they hosted a unique race starting outside and finishing inside the park. Brian Lopes took the win with a fast and furious pace that was not to be beaten.

rider: Cody Warren | event: U.S. Open
Cody didn’t make the final 4 in the results but he did make a lot of roost. This picture summed up the event well with the slalom event being held at sunset with tons of screaming fans cheering their favorite rider.

rider: Cam McCaul | event: Crankworx
Crankworx was another event where we had more than enough pictures to sift through to find our favorites. Cam torn it up the entire week so we thought it was fitting to include him in our “best of”.

rider: Cedric Gracia | event: Crankworx
Shooting the Jim Beam Air DH was an interesting event. The race takes place on A Line which is known for letting riders air out big style. However, when you hold a race down the same course riders tend to try to keep their tires on the ground. Cedric was kind enough to throw us a nice whip during his run.

rider: Gee Atherton | event: Crankworx
Giant Slalom at Crankworx was a fun event to cover. There were a lot of top pro’s shredding the well groomed course. Gee Atherton took third place and we took this nice shot near the lower section of the course.

rider: Sam Hill | event: Canadian Open
The Canadian Open course this year at the end of Crankworx had a few fresh cut sections but that didn’t deter Sam Hill from bombing the course to take the win. Gee and Sam both sliced through this section of the course with impressive skill.

rider: Andreu Lacondeguy | event: Crankworx
Andreu Lacondeguy was thowing big tricks all week, including landing a double backflip in the finals. He took the win at the slopestyle event with the help of that massive trick as well as a ton of style.
