Spotlight: Twenty6 F1 Direct Mount Boxxer Stem

Twenty6 Boxxer Direct Mount Stem
Tyler over at Twenty6 Products showed off some new parts at Interbike this year. One of the items was his F1 boxxer direct mount stem. See inside for more details.
Made in the USA (Belgrade, MT), Tyler makes all of his products in house. All his products tend to be a little different than everyone else and it’s cool to see what new products he comes up with as they usually have a little twist to them.

The latest product he showed us is this Boxxer direct mount stem. It bolts up to the top of the crown like any other direct mount Boxxer stem but it has 3 positions available (45mm, 50mm, and 55mm) with a zero degree rise.

The stem takes 31.8mm bars and has some floral flourish on the sides of the stem. The laser etchings / logo-ing we feel could be a little more defined to a deeper single white tone. It has some pretty intricate design going on to say the least.

The stem is quite light and is cutout a good bit that gives it an ornament like look on top of any crown. The clamp stance on the stem isn’t quite as wide as other direct mount stems we’ve used before.

What is that top cap and where can I get one?? Cant you put beer bottle caps on that top cap??
Got it at a bike show years back, don’t remember which booth had it.
Is there any other Direct Mount Stem you guys can show me…hehe
The top cap is from Niner bikes. It’s called the YAWYD and retails on there site for $12.99.
Tyler, good looking stem!
I think the top cap is the Niner YAWYD Top Cap. You put a bottle cap on it. You can order that from most shops.
I just got my order of these stems in in dark blue to match the paint on my team’s bikes. DAMN! these stems are purrty! Tyler does amazing work and I am proud to partner with such an artist, awesome company and individual! Twenty6 owns it!
Really cool stem. I really like the micro adjust length and that there is a 55mm option. I also like the color options. I do want to make some very minor suggestions though. It would be cool if the handlebar clamp surrounded the bar a little bit more like a Thomson stem (i.e. smaller gap between the face and stem body). A wider handlebar clamp would also be nice. I also think that the front of the face plate would look a little more finished with beveled edges on the inner and outer perimeters.
BTW: the top cap is made by Niner bikes. It is called the YAWYD cap.
The front plate needs to cover the bar more to make it stronger and resist bar spin. I would have more confidence in a stem if it was one piece. I do not like the slotted mounting holes individual adjustment holes would be stronger. I would make the top bar clamp bolts tighten with no gap then tighten the bottom bolts just like motorcycle stems. Just when you think you have made it strong enough that a idiot can’t break it that is when one does. That is allot to spend on a stem. Looks great and good adjustment ideas.
