Nony do you have any time on the fork? You have one in your garage that’s broken? The fork isn’t made it the states mate. We’ll see once it comes out if its “overpriced, tacky, garbage, etc” but I doubt Peaty / Minnaar / Needles / etc would sign up to to ride garbage if they were interested in winning.
MORE garbage? Are you insinuating that all of Rockshox line is garbage? I’ve personally owned several of their forks (Pike 454 Dual air, Boxxer Ride, Boxxer Team) and quite personally, I’ve loved every one.
My Boxxer team has been nothing but SOLID. No leaks, no problems, easy setup.
If you have personal experience, lets hear about it.
Im quite excited for the mission control damper and a bottomout setting on the 2010. Cant wait to get a ride in on it. Their current mission control forks are great and its about time it made it to the Boxxer!
All RockShox is garbage, IMO, end of. Whether the lines made in the USA or Taiwan, fact of the matter is RS has alot of plastic internals and are designed in the USA. You cant even brew a decent beer or make a car thats worth buying, so why should I cough up over 700 sheets for some of your shitty forks that cost double here (UK) what you guys pay, over in the States?
And I doubt peaty or Minaar chose to ride the fork, they are paid to ride it,a nd theirs won’t be the stock fork that joe average will be able to buy.

Hate to bring one of the biggest tragedys in world history into an arguement about a mtb fork however if he is going to categorise a whole country as big headed wankers etc.. then my point is valid.
You have made it clear that you have obsolutley no idea what you are talking about. Rock Shox forks have been the top of the market fork since you were sucking on your mothers tit(actually quite a bit longer than that as I have no doubt that you do that quite often)Since its release the Boxxer fork models have been the most cost effective high performance fork on the market. The Race, Team and World Cup models have all been the most popular choices with downhillers world wide. I have used Marzocchi, Fox and Rock Shox forks on a variety of bikes and I have yet to have a problem with any of the Rock Shox forks, which is more I can say for the Marzocchis. My Boxxers have turned out to be the most reliable fork I have ever ridden while perfoming way above its price tag in comparison to other forks. I have rarely had to service the fork to keep it running well and I have had no issues with it at all.
Do you even ride mountain bikes? Because I find it hard to believe that someone who has any idea in mountain bike componentry could have such a one sided ridiculous view on THE best product on the market.
Out of sheer curiosity Nomy, what is your bike and complete setup? Why haven’t you started a mtb mag / site with your wealth of knowledge?

There is no perfect bike set-up. This is my opinion. Ever heard of an opinion or are you just one of those boring, political correct twits who doesn’t say what he thinks, believes any crap that’s marketed to them, hates people with a differing opinion? I think you are. Brands love fools like you as you can be persuaded to buy anything.

I would definitely wait a year before even considering this fork. Rock Shox didn’t manage to get their current Boxxers sorted and now they are releasing something with even more features. With their QC record over the last few years, it would be surprising if this fork doesn’t have issues. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see a fork with all these features that works as they say, doesn’t require ridiculously frequent maintenance, and doesn’t break. At the moment, no one makes a fork I would really want to buy. Not to mention, if they have all these new features, bigger stanchions… but the fork isn’t any heavier, that means that those lowers and stanchions are going to be much much thinner, and there have been enough of those cracked as is.
For me, my Boxxer WC has spent way too much time being broken or just not functioning as I would like. It’s been back for warranty, it still leaks out of the compression cartridge, the air spring has leaked and blow off the seal more than once, it has been maintained both by myself and by a very experienced mechanic. Yet it still leaks, it has a nice dead spot at the top of the travel now, and I feel like I’m riding a time bomb.
I didn’t mean for this to be such a rant, but I can’t understand how so many people can be awaiting this new fork so eagerly and wanting to buy one at the first opportunity. RockShox/Sram is brilliant at marketing, that is for sure. I would much rather have less adjustments and a heavier fork if it just worked properly and didn’t break down. I don’t even ride as hard as a lot of people I know… so for all the people who don’t have issues with their Rock Shox products, do you really ride much/hard?
Hack - YES. I race DH with my 08 Boxxer Team and last season, raced on a 06 Boxxer Ride. They have been nothing but solid for me.
My Pike Dual Air has seen hundreds of miles of trails and dirtjumps.
So yes - I do ride 4 to 6 times a week and judging from the wear of my components and my body, I ride pretty hard.
I’ve personally known more people to have issues with Fox 40’s than I ever have with Boxxers. But again, thats just my experience.
Hello, I would just like to apologise on behalf of England! Many of my best bike bits come from the USA, Chris King headset and hubs, Klein frames, Fox forks, ODI grips, LP handlebars………..etc. Some stuff from the USA may be shite but thats the same for just about any country that makes/designs bike stuff! I have no issues with my RS Rebas even though I never clean them! I have had problems with SRAM gears from the very same company.

Orange? Haha talk about over priced and absolutely shithouse. They make a horrible sound on the slightest hit and the swingarm cracks approximateyl 12.6 times every ride.
