I have been riding with one of the prototypes of this stem for about a month now.
It is a thing of beauty! It’s light weight, amazingly well finished, and so far has functioned flawlessly!

It looks like you would have to include spacers beneath the pinch area as the front of the stem is not flush, thus raising, albeit slightly, the handlebar height. It seems like a small thing but when you’re designing something so simple, I’m surprised they didn’t think of that.
As far as question 2 goes, does it have to be our exact stem or can it be a picture we pulled off the internet? My digi camera is about a 4 hour drive from me.
A picture from online should be sufficient but we’d like to see the real deal.
Greg: Straitline don’t forget stuff like that. That is simply a trade off from having such a short reach stem. You still need adequate material to support the handle bar, so you would need to raise the bar height (making a rise stem) or move it forward (meaning it won’t be as short) to do so.
I would be suprised if this didn’t work on any 1-1/8 headset with a 2.5mm spacer underneath….which is not much, and I don’t know of anyone who runs their bars with no spacers what so ever, so it wouldn’t be an issue.
This stem looks awesome! I like how they drill out every possible piece of aluminum they can. Minimalist, yet beefy!
