Syncros Fixed Flat Top Handlebar

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Many riders today prefer a very low cockpit height for their style of riding. Syncros as well as a few other companies offer some super low rise handlebars to allow for minimum cockpit elevation. Check inside to read about Syncros’ 0 degree rise handlebar the Fixed Flat Top.

Syncros’ addition to the extremely low rise or flat handlebar options is their Fixed Flat Top handlebar. The Fixed Flat Top was designed for freeriders and the 29′er crowd but downhiller’s will appreciate its features and weight.

It offers no rise while keeping its sweep comfortable for riding. We’ve been riding the Fixed Flat Top for a while now testing different rotation angles for feel and control. We found that with a little added upsweep rotation the bar is very comfortable and sits perfect when the bike sags.

For comparison we’ve taken shots of a couple of different angles to show how much lower your bar height would be compared to a bar with a low 20mm rise.

The bar works very well for dropping the front end of the bike down to a minimum which offers a better rider position those who prefer a low cockpit. The stock length of the bar isn’t too wide (690mm) so take care if you like wider bars. If this is your style of riding, checking out a flat bar like the Fixed Flat Top might be worth a try.

If you’d like to purchase a Fixed Flat Top of your own you can get one via Syncros’ online store or a dealer near you.

Not to be out done in the cockpit modification arena, Straightline Components has created a new product to not only keep the rider lower in the cockpit, but also extend the rider over the front wheel for greater traction. The new product will be called “Bar Ends”. Initial product will made in exciting anodized purple.

When “Bar Ends” are used in conjunction with the Syncros Fixed Flat Top Handlebar a synergy of speed can be achieved transporting the rider straight back to the 90’s.
