JD and Cody Warren sandbagged qualifying, hoping for rain later in the day but the strategy did not pay off as the course never saw rain except an overnight thunderstorm. However, by race time the sun and wind dried it off nicely, making for an exciting event. Cody was the second to go and sat in the hot seat until the fastest qualifier went, Geritt Beytagh. Geritt took the exciting win by 2.83 seconds with a time of 4:56.57. Cody in second with a time of 4:59.40 the only other rider to post a sub 5:00 time on the Mt. Snow pro course. Duncan Riffle took third 7.79 seconds behind Beytagh. Curtis Keene and Ryan Condrashoff rounded out the mens USAC Pro Downhill National Championship. Beytagh has been on a tear this season but this win tops all his others. Congrats to Geritt Beytagh on a great weekend finishing second in the pro dual slalom and taking the win in pro downhill race.

The womens Pro National Championship was taken by Melissa Buhl with crowd favorite Marla Streb finishing second. Dawn Bourque rounded out the top three.

The course did take it’s toll on tires and wheels with many riders coming down the course with flats suffered on the rough top section.
