2009 Avid Elixir CR

Sram has a new brake called the Elixir CR. They designed it to provide more power, control, and comfort. Gone is the Avid Juicy Carbon and in its place is what seems to be a much improved brake that has some very nice features and changes to improve upon the Juicy design.

They showed off the Elixir R model previously at Sea Otter, but this new version includes a tool free pad contact adjustment in addition to the reach adjustment. Check out the pdf for more information.

when is it going to be avalible?

  • Read the PDF: August 2008. ;-)

  • oh yeah, they’re looking so good.. they will replace my hfx-9

  • what is the price going to be?

  • You’re looking at about $200 per brake.

  • I installed these on my Bullit the other day and they are so sweet. Broke in very quickly, great feel and modulation and stupid amounts of power with one finger braking (even the 160mm on the back). These are about twice as powerful as my Hope M4s. The best price I found is about $210 per end. They are also pretty light for such a powerful brake which is always a bonus and the carbon levers look pimp as well as being comfortable.
