2009 Specialized Enduro SX

This past weekend, we spotted Mr. Sloan riding what looks to be a new 2009 Specialized SX at Whistler in a nice bright orange color.

The one he was riding looks to have a 1.5″ lower cup and a 1 1/8″ upper cup as well as a few other curvy modifications.  We’ll see what the final production ones turn out like, but this one looked pretty complete!

At first site I didn’t really like it (over the current model) but the more I look the more I like it. I’m hoping a headset reducer can be used in the bottom cup so regular forks can be used, Is the frame next to it the same but with a full 1.5 headtube?

  2. sicklines Says:

No, the frame next to it is a prototype Big Hit I believe.

    IT’S MELTING!

If Brandon’s riding it, it’s usually a done deal.

  6. HP Says:

Damn… Looks like the BigHit got a complete overhaul!
Seems the two series have very similar designs albeit different geos…

  7. XXIV Says:

That looks epicly disgusting..reminds me of the new Rocky Mountain a bit in its curvature, similar, but still completely different.

  8. Mr. P Says:

I would like to see more of the bike, but what I can see so far, I’m not feelin’ it. And I ride an 06 Enduro. The shock looks shorter than the previous version as well; for a higher ratio?

Its’ all speculation… but then that is what the internet is for. Well that and porn.

Nice scoop! I like the SX, looks good. So you think the raw frame is a new Big Hit, and not a lightened Demo?

  10. sicklines Says:

The raw frame is not a lightened Demo.

  11. afroush Says:

big hit on the right side? and where is FSR system? i think that on left side is lighter version of SX trail and on right is harder

    sorry my english

  12. sicklines Says:

Click more to see the rest of the pictures. Big Hit is on the right. The one on the right is not an SX Trail.

  13. Rob Witherspoon Says:

From the decals it is a SX - not and SX Trail, which may explain the small shock length.

  14. sicklines Says:

Yep. Rob, you do realize those same pics are linked/from the gallery right if you click more. :)

  15. chance Says:

  16. theo Says:

  18. enrico650 Says:

I saw the pics and the specs for the big hit and the sx trail, the sx trail is sick! the chainstays are straight and the rear der. is atached to them, the new gamut shift chainguide is awesome ,light and clean,i dont agree with the color but the spec is great, also new tires to match this model.

  19. enrico650 Says:

I almost forgot, AVID ELIXIRS! for the trail.

  20. Corey Says:

the silver bike in the picture next to the new specialized sx is the new specialized big hit. spec rep was just in the shop and showed us a news release off of the dealer site with pictures of the big hit.
