Race Face Diabolus DH low-rise handlebar
Race Face continues to bring new products to the table that riders have been clamoring for. A low-rise Diabolus quality bar. The rise and the sweep remains the same as the higher rise Diabolus but in a much lower 1/2″ rise variant.
Available only in bad ass black, these new low rise handlebar from Race Face will be loved by many. Designed for downhill and freeride, the Diabolus bars are built strong with an internal taper to keep the strength up and to keep the weight in check.

The width on these bars rings in at 710mm (28″) wide.

The bars feature a 9º rearward, 4º upward sweep with only a .5″ rise.

Bar Diameter: 31.8mm
The bars have the typical Race Face styling with subtle flame graphics.
The bars have some nice cut marks with distinct cut lines.

So far it’s as expected with this bar. Race Face delivers a very low rise bar with a good sized width. It is significantly lower than previous Diabolus offerings (1.5″ rise) and maintains the same feel of the Diabolus bar but in a lower .5″ rise. With increased suspension and desire for a lower overall feel on the bike, the need for low rise bars is definitely there.

Very cool touch to include the grams your cutting off. Tho I’m not sure such small weight reductions should factor into a control feel (width) issue.

What is changing in bike geometry or fork height or just rider opinion to bring out so many low rise bars? Are frame builders now modifying geometry to make it so you don’t need the rise? Or was the high rise just a fad? or is this a fad? Hmmm….

When riser bars initially came out, there weren’t 8″ + travel bikes. In combination of racers getting more specific equipment (geometry specific bikes and proper dh forks), the need to get the bars lower was there.
Its probably a bit of “fad” on the surface but lower bars do offer a nice “racer / lower” feel that a high rise bar can’t match. It gets you lower in the cockpit and lowers yoru cog. It opens up newer positions as well that help the rider control the bike in a different way.
Low bars are a good thing, but high bars have their place as well.

Funny… I’ve started jumping my Reign X1 and with the Race Face evolve Dh bars I have on there, I can’t get low enough…These will do the trick without changing the whole feel I;ve gotten used to.Sweet
